Gbenga Olawepo- Hashim has formally secured the Accord Party’s ticket for the 2027 presidential election after polling 423,902 affirmative votes in the party’s nationwide affirmation primaries.
His Media Office announced this in a statement on Sunday made available to journalists in Kaduna. The statement said exercise, conducted across several states, drew a large number of party members and supporters who turned out to endorse Hashim’s candidature despite his emergence as the sole aspirant for the ticket.
The statement said the results released by the party showed that Jigawa State accounted for the highest number of votes with 198,200, while Kano recorded
124,101 votes; Nasarawa – 47,309: and Kebbi – 46,852 votes.
The party also recorded 4,548 votes in Lagos State and 3,348 votes in Kwara State.
According to the statement, the
affirmation was organised to provide party members with the opportunity to formally ratify Hashim’s candidature in line with the party’s democratic processes.
The statement added that the exercise was conducted peacefully and transparently, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence reposed in Hashim’s leadership and political vision.
“The endorsement marks a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the presidential contest as it seeks to expand its national presence and position itself as a viable alternative in the country’s political landscape.
“Supporters of the candidate said the overwhelming votes cast in his favour demonstrated growing acceptance of his message of national unity and inclusive leadership.
“They expressed confidence that Hashim’s candidacy would resonate across the country, describing him as a leader capable of bridging regional and religious divides and fostering greater national cohesion.
“According to them, his emergence offers Nigerians an opportunity to rally around a platform committed to reconciliation, nation building, and democratic renewal.
