Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri, has declared a 24-hour curfew in the state following looting by some youths in Yola, the state capital.
Spokesman of the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, announced this in a statement on Sunday.
He said the decision was taken to curtail the activities of hoodlums in the state.
The statement said, there will be no movement throughout the state during the curfew and anyone found not complying would be arrested.
It was gathered that some youths reportedly went on a looting spree at the grain warehouse located at PZ Roundabout, near the Yola International Airport.
Private stores were also said to have been vandalised and looted by the youths.
The police were said to have engaged in an attempt to stop the rampage
The looters were said to have attributed their action to hunger following the removal of subsidy on petrol.
