Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State have praised President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani over improved security and governance in Southern Kaduna.
The commendation came during a rally in Zonkwa, where party supporters endorsed the two leaders and Anthony Sylvester, a House of Representatives aspirant for Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
Declaring his ambition at the gathering, Sylvester promised to focus on inclusive representation, youth development, and infrastructure if elected.
He cited his experience at the National Assembly as critical to delivering results for constituents.
“I was formerly a staff of the National Assembly. I have worked there for over twenty years.
I understand how the system works, not just lawmaking, but also how to attract projects for the people.
If, after all these years, I don’t know what to do, then I am not worthy to serve,” he said.
He also attributed the increased political activities in the area to improved security, noting that such gatherings were previously difficult to hold.
He said, “Before now, gatherings like this were impossible due to insecurity. People lived in fear. “Today, there is relative peace and coexistence. Though challenges remain, the president and the governor have done a commendable job. ”
Also speaking at the occasion,
Jerry Adams, Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, said the improved security had enabled farmers to return to their farms while residents had resumed economic activities.
He described Sylvester’s entry into the race as timely and expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
Adams attributed progress in the area to sustained security efforts and inclusive governance.
“In the past, organizing an event like this would have been difficult. But today, you can see the massive turnout. This shows there is peace. The governor has ensured inclusivity in governance, from infrastructure development to political appointments,” he said.
In his remarks, Bege Gaya, Chairman of Zangon Kataf LGA, said the people of Southern Kaduna are prepared to support the ruling party in future elections.
According to him, Governor Sani has demonstrated commitment to the people, noting that “his inclusive approach has earned him widespread acceptance, and the people are ready to support his second term bid.”
