Kaduna APC officials emerge through consensus, targets 2 million votes for Tinubu, Sani in  2027

Kaduna state governor Senator Uba Sani has described the  State Congresses of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a defining moment for the party, reflecting unity, internal cohesion, and democratic discipline.
Speaking on Tuesday at the wearing of the officials at the Murtala Square, Kaduna, the governor said the exercise demonstrated APC’s readiness to mobilise support for electoral success ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The congress, held at Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna, produced Isaac Sankay as consensus state chairman of the party.
Until his emergence, Sankay, who is from the Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone, was a special adviser to the governor on peace and conflict resolution.
He was said to have been endorsed following extensive consultations across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The governor disclosed that 6,885 ward executives and 621 local government executives were elected during grassroots congresses, while 36 state executives were  affirmed through consensussworned- in.
Sani emphasised that “adopting a consensus approach reflected political maturity, not weakness” and pledged that the Kaduna APC would channel its energy toward governance, development, and electoral victory.
Also speaking,  Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, urged the new leadership to act immediately by  unifying  all party factions, and deliver over 2 million votes each for President Bola Tinubu and  Governor Sani in 2027.
He commended the outgoing leadership for victories in 2015 and 2023, noting that disciplined members could meet the ambitious target.
In his acceptance speech, Sankay expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to Governor Sani for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to strengthen internal democracy, deepen grassroots mobilisation, expand youth and women participation, and maintain stability across diverse communities in the state through collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, and civil society groups.
In his remarks, outgoing state Chairman of the party,  Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (rtd) thanked party faithfuls  for their support during his eight-year tenure, noting that he was leaving behind a stronger and more united APC in the state.
