Bandits kill five worshipers in Zamfara, abduct others

Five worshipers have been reportedly killed in Yandoto community, Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state.
According to agency reports, the incident occurred on Friday morning when the attackers stormed the mosque during prayers and opened fire on the congregation.
The bandits reportedly shot dead five people on the spot before abducting an unspecified number of others away into the forest.
The killings caused widespread panic and sparked outrage among residents, who later gathered for the funeral prayers of the victims.
“We pray Allah to forgive their shortcomings, accept them as martyrs, and bring an end to this bloodshed in our land,” a community elder was quoted as saying.
Witnesses said the gunmen stormed the mosque around 5:30 am, surrounded the building, and forced worshippers out at gunpoint before marching them into the forest near the Gohori axis.
Neither local authorities nor security agencies have commented on the latest incident.
