The senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Katung, on Thursday visited the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, at the Government House, Kaduna, in a bid to strengthen unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Katung, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC in November last year, said the visit was part of his ongoing effort to build cohesion among party leaders and stakeholders in the state.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, by Midat Joseph, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the senator, “the consultative meeting focused on promoting teamwork and fostering a cohesive platform for the party.”
Joseph said the meeting was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Henry Magaji, and other senior government officials from Kaduna South Senatorial District
The statement said Katung remained committed to engaging party leaders across his zone, stressing that unity and collaboration were essential for the APC’s success in the forthcoming elections.
The statement added that the visi is part of Katung’s broader strategy to consolidate party support and ensure a united APC platform ahead of 2027.
