Buhari burried at his residence in Daura

The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari were laid to rest  on Tuesday at his residence in Daura, Katsina state, in a solemn ceremony that drew dignitaries from across the nation and beyond.
Buhari died on Sunday in a London Hospital where he went for medical treatment following a protracted illness.
He was burried in a garden at his residence after according to Islamic rites.
The body was interred after a funeral prayer session led by the Chief Imam of Katsina State at 5:50pm.
The funeral prayers and interment was performed  by a select family members, close associates, and Islamic clerics.
Army Generals and Service Chiefs bore the remains of Buhari on a stretcher to his graveside for interment, followed with a 21-gun salute.
Buhari’s corpse had earlier arrived in Katsina on Tuesday from London on board a Nigerian Air Force aircraft, accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior government officials.
The casket, draped in the national colours, was transported from the Katsina International Airport to Daura by chopper.
The atmosphere in Daura was one of deep sorrow and  quiet reverence.
Thousands of residents, kinsmen, and well-wishers thronged the ancient town to mourn the former president.
Among the prominent figures who who attended the funeral and paid their last respects to Buhari, were President Bola Tinubu, who personally received the remains in Katsina, Prime Minister of Niger, Ali Lamine Zeine, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who served as  Buhari’s Vice President, several state governors, cabinet members, and former heads of state among others.
