Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state
The governor stated has presented staff of office to Mr. Ishaku Tagwai Sambo, the new Chief of Moro’a, Kaura Local Government Area of the state.
Tagwai who ascended the throne as the 5th Chief of Maroa, succeeded his father, Mallam Tagwai Sambo
who died on June 14, 2024, after 58 years on the throne.
Speaking at the ceremony on Saturday in Manchok, headquarters of Kaura LGA, the governor said,
the collaboration with the state government, security agencies, and traditional rulers has made the state more stable and secured.
According to Sani, the traditional institution plays a critical role in the governance, security, and development of Kaduna state.
The governor said, “Today, I can confidently say that Kaduna state is safer, more stable, and more secure, thanks to the combined efforts of government, security agencies, and our revered traditional institutions.
‘’Our royal fathers are partners in policy, protectors of peace, and promoters of progress. ”
He noted that traditional rulers are the first line of intelligence in tackling insecurity as well as the moral compass in promoting discipline and grassroots mobilisers for development.
‘’Through their voices, their vigilance, and their values, they hold our communities together,’’ he added.
Sani said the state government will continue to support traditional rulers to carry out their duties effectively, adding alot was being done to strengthen their capacities.
Speaking further, the governor said his administration has “adopted a multi-faceted approach to security, combining kinetic and non-kinetic efforts, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, empowering community-led initiatives, and investing in peacebuilding mechanisms”.
Sani added that his government is determined to improve the living conditions of the people by initiating projects that have direct bearing on them.
‘’We are rebuilding hospitals, building and rehabilitating schools, reconstructing roads, both rural and urban, and re-energising health centres.
“We are empowering youth and women, revamping traditional palaces, and reviving community projects.
“We are driving infrastructure, inclusion, and innovation. We are delivering on our promises, our priorities, and our purpose. Under our watch, Kaduna State will be a shining example of peace and unity and a most desired place for businesses,’’ he said.
He urged the first class chief to ‘’lead with courage, govern with compassion, and uphold the values of justice, fairness, and service.”
“You are succeeding a colossus, the late Chief Tagwai Sambo, your father, who reigned for 58 remarkable years, a leader renowned for peace, patience, and purpose.
“His memory is etched in the heart of our state, and his legacies live on in the values he upheld,” the governor said.
He also called on the people of Moro’a Chiefdom to support the new Chief by standing with him to succeed, “the governor said.
In his remarks, the chief thanked the governor for approving his appointment as successor to his late father and promised to uphold the legacies of the late chief.
