Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central senatorial district, says the leaderships of most state houses of assemblies are selected stooges of governors.
Sani, who stated this on his X handle,added that any member of the house who tries to question or challenge a governor on anything can earn himself a suspension.
According to him, “It’s an understatement to call most states House of Assemblies rubber stamps.
“Their leaderships are mostly carefully selected breed of stooges.
“Budget presentations and passages are mere formalities. Any house member who tries to question or challenge a governor on anything can earn himself a suspension”, Sani said.
He lamented that Nigeria either don’t know or are nonchalant about happenings in the state assemblies.
“Most Nigerians don’t know or are indifferent to what is happening in their states assemblies”, he said.
