Sule reacts to tribunal judgment, says he will appeal

Governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, has said that he will appeal the judgement of the election petitions tribunal that nullified his victory at the poll.
On Monday, the tribunal annulled Sule’s victory after two out of the three judges on the panel declared  David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.
However, addressing his supporters on Monday evening in Lafia, the governor described the judgment as a “temporary setback”.
He asked his supporters to remain calm and not engage in protests over the development.
“I still remain the governor till the supreme court decides otherwise because the law allows me to appeal, and we will do that to reclaim our mandate,” he said.
He said protests or unrest would not change the tribunal’s decision, adding that it is important to trust the judicial system and the appeal process.
